Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program
What is EITC?The Pennsylvania EITC program allows a business to divert its state taxes to education programs. To do this, the business pledges to make a gift through the EITC program, receives approval to do so, then selects an approved organization (such as Pennsylvania Envirothon) and fulfills the gift. The state Department of Community and Economic Development then gives the business a tax credit up to 90 percent.
Learn more about Education Improvement Tax Credit Program. Is your Business Eligible?
Businesses are eligible if they are authorized to do business in Pennsylvania and are subject to one or more of the following taxes: Corporate Net Income Tax, Capital Stock Franchise Tax, Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax, Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax, Insurance Premiums Tax, and Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax. How Do You Participate?
Complete the one-page application form, available by calling the Department of Community and Economic Development at 717-787-7120, mailing RA-EITC@pa.gov or online EITC Business Guidelines. Applications are approved on a first-come-first-served basis by date received.
Applications are due on July 1 of each year. Your business must be approved before you make a gift and receive tax credits.
Pennsylvania Envirothon Endowment
The Pennsylvania Envirothon Endowment Fund has been established by the Envirothon with annual earnings provided to the organization for its own uses and purposes. The Pennsylvania Envirothon prepares students with the knowledge and tools necessary to address the natural resource challenges facing today’s world.
When you give to the Pennsylvania Envirothon Endowment Fund, you help maintain the longevity of the program. Since only a portion of the fund is used, what you give grows, and what grows sustains our long-term goal of being self-supporting.
Your donation is tax deductible as the Endowment is a 501(c)(3). The Endowment Fund will be maintained by the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.

The Pennsylvania Envirothon is pleased to offer to its many supporters an opportunity to provide a gift for future generations of young people.
“Your planned gift is a gift of opportunity for generations to come.”
There may be many reasons why you might choose to leave a legacy:
- Perhaps you’ve participated in the Pennsylvania Envirothon Program as a student or volunteer and wish to further support the program.
- It may be that you have provided support to the program and wish to continue that support.
- It may be that you wish to memorialize a friend or loved one in a way that will last into the future.
Whatever your reason, the legacy you leave will provide future students the opportunity to experience the enjoyment and education of Pennsylvania Envirothon.
Your planned gift to The Legacy Program insures the future of the Envirothon as it gives an opportunity to plan for further growth and development. It is a way for all of us to touch the future.
